What should I wear?
It is cool underground, even on the hottest days, so warm clothing and stout footwear is advisable.
Due to the nature of the site, there are ramps, steps and uneven surfaces.
How old do I have to be to go on the Black Chasm Tour?
The Black Chasm is similar in content to a 12A cinema film rating. So, to enter The Black Chasm, anyone aged 12 or under must be accompanied by a person aged 16 or over. Please be advised that due to the nature of the shows, The Black Chasm may not be suitable for young children or those of a nervous disposition.
Children under the age of 8 will be denied entry.
Are there any health conditions that would prohibit entry?
The Black Chasm is not suitable for those suffering from claustrophobia, heart conditions and may affect those suffering from epilepsy due to strobe lighting.
What if our children are under 8 or we do not wish to go on the Black Chasm Experience?
There is always the Heritage Underground Mine Tour which gives a view of the old Silver-Lead Mine, its tunnels and machinery, in the company of Captain Lester, the manager from the 1860's.
